Learn Italian for Free: CLICI for International Students

The CLICI – Center for Italian Language and Culture of University of Rome Tor Vergata offers  Italian Language and Culture Courses for foreign students enrolled at the University as well as for external participants. 

 Course Schedule
• 1st semester: October 13 – December 19, 2025
• 2nd semester: mid-March – May 2026 

‍ Course Delivery Methods
Courses are held in person and/or online, depending on classroom availability and the number of enrolled students.
Course structure:
• 40 hours of classroom lessons (2 lessons per week, 2 hours each, either via Zoom or in person in the classroom)
• 20 hours of asynchronous online activities Total: 60 hours 

 A few days before the start of the lessons, enrolled students will receive via email:
• Confirmation of course activation
• Mode of attendance (online/in person)
• Days and times of the lessons 

 Registration – 1st Semester 

 You can register for 1st semester courses from July 21, 2025, to September 8, 2025

The selection process will be run in two rounds, with places allocated as follows:

• FIRST ROUND: forty (40) places, including ten (10) reserved for non-EU citizens residing abroad.
• SECOND ROUND: forty (40) places, including ten (10) reserved for non-EU citizens residing abroad, plus any unfilled places from the first round in each category.

CLASSROOM DIVISION AND IDENTIFICATION PROCEDURES

Candidates must report for identification at 8:30 a.m. on the same day, organized by division and in alphabetical order as follows:

ROOM 1: From ABBASI RAZANI to ISLAM 

ROOM 2: From JABERI to PATEL

ROOM 8 From PATHAN to ZUMU

Please note that the written test, consisting of multiple-choice questions, will begin at 9:30 AM.

The list of candidates admitted to the oral test will be posted at 3:00 PM in front of Classroom 2 in PP1.

The oral test for those admitted candidates will start at 3:30 PM in classroom 2 and 1 in PP1.

IDENTIFICATION PROCEDURES

For all candidates:  Show the valid identification document/passport already uploaded during the registration phase for the selection on Delphi and the receipt of payment of the payment slip of €30.00.

For non-EU candidates legally residing in Italy: plus a photocopy of a valid residence permit; if expired, submit a photocopy of the expired permit and the renewal request.

For non-EU candidates residing abroad requesting a visa for study purposes:  plus a photocopy of the pre-enrollment application submitted on Universitaly.

IT IS NOT ALLOWED:

  • Bringing bags, folders, cell phones, smartphones, notes, manuscripts, books, or publications into the classroom is prohibited. Any other materials are equally banned.
  • Communicating with each other or contacting others is also not allowed

IS ALLOWED:

  • The use of scientific calculators as long as they do not require an electrical or wireless connection.
